Konseling Pranikah sebagai Strategi Penguatan Ketahanan Keluarga: Studi Kualitatif Pelaksanaan Bimbingan Perkawinan di KUA Paciran

Abstract

This study examines premarital counseling as a strategy for strengthening family resilience at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) Paciran, Lamongan. The increasing divorce rate in Indonesia highlights the urgency of preventive interventions prior to marriage. This qualitative case study employed in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving the head of KUA, religious counselors, prospective brides and grooms, and alumni participants. The findings reveal that premarital counseling functions not merely as an administrative requirement but as a preventive educational intervention facilitating the internalization of religious values such as sakinah, mawaddah, rahmah, amanah, and deliberation. This internalization process fosters cognitive and affective transformation, enhances psychological readiness, strengthens communication skills, and promotes conflict management based on Islamic principles. Although the impact remains at a perceptual and preparatory level, the program demonstrates potential contributions to family resilience by reinforcing commitment, adaptive capacity, and relational stability. The study suggests that value-based premarital counseling may serve as a foundational mechanism for preventive family strengthening policies.
